THE CONFLUENCE PROTOCOL

After ten years of service to the Ministry as The Ghost Project’s luthier, Cloud has become used to the changing of members within his circle. So, it’s no surprise to him when a new frontman takes the reins of the band once a new era begins. But when he witnesses his mate yield to a primal need to consume, the Ministry’s punishment comes down swiftly and with no mercy. Swiss is banished back to the Pit for eternity, leaving Cloud hollow with only an old ally, Mountain, to act as an anchor.
Determined to restore the fractured bond between the ghouls, a former frontman mandates that any ghouls who were sent away may return if they choose to do so. As Cloud teeters on the edge of psychological collapse, he must decide whether this new era will break him, or if his mind can handle an unexpected reunion.

Malice, a substance that turns carbon-based lifeforms like humans and animals into a thick inky liquid, is beginning to infect the country of Aderyn. When her mother is killed by Malice, Izumi Guo is sought out by Damien Amaturo, world renowned biochemist and demonologist, who seems to know more than what he’s saying to her. With additional aid from Damien’s brother Marcel, the three manage to make their way to where they believe the Malice physically originated: an old, underground laboratory.
